Teaching Strategies
“Art, craft and design defines a set of practices that are fundamental to society, a network of useful, pleasurable, challenging and potentially transforming acts that shape the environment in which we live.” (Addison and Burgess, 2015, p. 1.)

Visual Art has the potential to be transformative. Art teaching provides an open opportunity to be more creative in teaching approaches and strategies. Below I have outlined 3 teaching strategies that I found to be very helpful throughout my school placements and plan to further develop as I move through my career. Each strategy, when used effectively, contributed and enhanced student learning. The teaching strategies outlined are 1. Demonstration, 2. Questioning and 3. Reflection.
