Superstitions

Superstition: a widely held but irrational belief in supernatural influences, especially as leading to good or bad luck, or a practice based on such a belief.

Ireland is a country with many traditions and many superstitions. These can differ from area to area and county to county. This unit opens up the opportunity to explore the concept of superstitions and for students to share those they grew up with in a creative, humorous way.

Taking the above definition, students will create a 15-30 second stop motion animation video based around the concept of superstitions. Students can choose one specific on they may have grown up with, or chose to depict several in one video, but the video must be at least 15 seconds in length. The video will be created using drawing and must have sound/music inserted.
